The Taiwanese Small Cell Industry 2Q 2015

This research report presents shipment volume and value forecast and recent quarter review of the Taiwanese small cell industry. The report includes shipment volume, shipment value, ASP, shipment volume breakdowns by technology, price point, business type, customer type, and production locations. The content of this report is based on primary data obtained through interviews with Taiwanese small cell makers with factories either in Taiwan or mainland China. The report finds that the Taiwanese small cell shipment volume in the first quarter of 2015 grew 27.7% year-on-year to around 664,000 units, thanks to orders placed by international branded vendors like Alcatel-Lucent and Cisco. Of the total of 4.5 million small cells shipped worldwide in 2014, 49% or 2.3 million small cells were from Taiwan's companies. In anticipation of the rising small cell demand in the Asian region, Taiwan is expected to ship around 1.5 million small cells in the second half of 2015, up 20.8% compared to the same period last year. As a result, MIC predicts that Taiwanese small cell shipment volume will total around 2.8 million units in 2015, up 23% year-on-year.
