Quarterly Beverage Tracker Fourth Quarter 2015: Serbia; Comprehensive Quarterly Analysis of Year on Year Performance for All Commercial Beverages

Published: Feb 29, 2016 | Pages: 26 | Publisher: Canadean | Industry: Beverages | Report Format: Electronic (PDF)

Summary
Almost all soft drinks categories managed edge forward in the Q4-15 with the only exceptions seen in juice, nectars and syrups. Very aggressive price promotions that lasted for a short period of time made premium brands in most of the soft drinks categories affordable for the average consumer. ACB categories' growth was further driven by health trends in the country. Beer also avoided a negative trend because of Heineken and Carlsberg late marketing investments. PL is present in almost all categories, but the only relevant share was reserved in squash/syrups due to the poor brand loyalty and brand image from all important players.

Key Findings
-Aggressive price promotions with regard to multipacks provided a positive trend for soft drinks despite more rational consumer spending

-In beer market, smaller players suffered whereas BIP led the drop

-Still drinks witnessed a huge move as it attracted consumers with the enticing packaging rules

-More marketing activities focused on the natural and healthy image of dairy drinks prevail and provided growth for it

-Health concerns and dieting drove soymilk to a higher ranking position and thereby slowed the drop in Q4-15
