There were 263,338 HNWIs in Italy in 2014. These HNWIs held US$1.1 trillion in wealth, with wealth per HNWI recording US$4,214,133.0 that year. Italian HNWI numbers rose by 1.7% in 2014, following an increase of 2.5% from 2012. Growth in HNWI wealth and volumes is expected to improve over the forecast period. The total number of Italian HNWIs is forecast to grow by 19.0%, to reach 318,689 in 2019. HNWI wealth will see a significant percentage increase, growing by 31.2% to reach US$1.5 trillion by 2019. Italian HNWIs held 38.2% (US$424.0 billion) of their wealth outside their home country, at the end of 2014; significantly higher than the worldwide average of 20-30%.
