Global shipments of large area TFT-LCD (Thin Film Transistor-Liquid Crystal Display) panels for three major applications—notebook PCs, LCD monitors, and LCD TVs—reached 149.3 million units in the fourth quarter of 2015, up 0.7% sequentially. Aside from LCD TV panels, which slipped 0.7% sequentially, shipments of notebook PC panels and LCD monitor panels both saw slight growth of 2% and 1.7%, respectively. In the first quarter of 2016, shipment volume of the global large area TFT-LCD panels for major applications is projected to have reached 130.6 million units, plunging 12.6% sequentially.
