Industry: ICT | Report Format: Electronic (PDF)

Worldwide Quantum dot and quantum dot display (QLED) market is projected to go through significant growth over the forecast period. Each vendor will noticeably lose the markets share, once the manufactures discover to incorporate luminescent quantum dots with higher efficiency. This level of change will create new products, jobs and industries in science and industry. Quantum dot applications lists are expanding and is expected to grow over the forecast period. QLED profitable focus has continued to be the major optical applications. Furthermore, Optical component lasers are arriving as the considerable market.

Using kilogram quantity mass production is a game changer for quantum commercialization. High quantity, high quality and lowest price quantum dots augment product quality in every industry. This states that the speeded product cycles are expanding in the market.

Quantum dot are extremely minute semiconductor nanocrystal and cannot be seen with the naked eye. The nanocrystal is having a particle size of less than 10 nanometers. QDs have highly saturated colors and have great potential due to several characteristics like easy wavelength tenability, high quantum efficiency and sharp spectral resolution. Qds are also used in other applications, image sensors and photo detectors as QDs convert light to current.

QLED displays are considered to have higher efficient than OLED’s and LCDs. Furthermore, they are also cheaper to make. QLEDs quantum dot display is considered better than QLED. On addition, it is also brighter and save more energy. Also, energy saving is a strong feature as it consumes 1/5 to 1/10 of LCD’s Samsung offers now. OLED or LCDs manufacturing display cost is higher than that of QLED, nearly less than half. Furthermore, QLED has significantly longer life than OLED.

For controlling the opening and closing of pixels of each color, QLED quantum display uses matrix. Quantum dots use a transistor that has thin film. Additionally, Electric or light stimulation creates the emission from quantum dots. Depending on the shape and size used in material production, quantum dots produce different colors. Firms like Nanoco Group plc, The Dow chemical company holds global licensing agreement for NAnoco’s cadmium free quantum dot technology.
