Chinese Home Appliance Industry and Market, March 2015

This research report presents recent month review of shipment volume and sales value of four major Chinese home appliances categories: washing machine, refrigerator, air conditioner, and LCD TV; also included are sales volume share of China's top-10 home appliance vendors in each category; top-10 home appliance sales volume ranking with breakdowns by types of models offered in each category, by model and ASP. The content of this report is based on secondary data obtained from National Bureau of Statistics of China, State Information Center of China and public information made available by international and Chinese home appliance brands. According to statistics released by China's National Bureau of Statistics on April 15, the sales volume of Chinese home appliances totaled RMB 178.2 billion (US$28.7 billion; US$1 = 6.20 RMB) from January to March 2015, up 13.7% year-on-year. In March alone, sales volume of Chinese home appliances arrived at RMB 62.7 billion (US$10.1 billion), up 16.2% year-on-year. It is noteworthy that the statistics revealed China's merchants, including home appliances, sold online stood at RMB 631.7 billion (US$101.9 billion) from January to March 2015, up 41% year-on-year.
